The House Tour

For the first post, it is only right to begin with the inspiration behind this blog, our first home. Whist it has always been an ambition of mine to own a home, David was a little more reluctant to the idea. Thankfully after some time he came around.

After a year of house inspections, three offers and a withdrawal. David discovered our house whilst browsing through the usual property sites. As I peered over his shoulder at the photographs and the price, we agreed to book an inspection right away.

The next day we inspected the property at a private viewing with the agent. I was a warm day and the house had been closed up. I can still recall the musty smell. After walking through the shabby house, we were led out to the backyard. Wow, it was huge. Overgrown and unkempt it was a lush bushy secret garden. By the time we got to the back fence, I turned to David and asked if we could make an offer. He agreed and by the time we had steeped onto the curbside, we were told our offer would likely be accepted and paperwork would be organised.

So now without further adieu... our home...

These photographs were taken from a previous realtor's website but give an idea of what the property was like during our inspection.
 The lounge room.
The kitchen with our lovely laminate cupboards
 The main bedroom.
The second bedroom.
 The bathroom (ugh!)
This is a structure at the back of the property. The supporting posts are a little weathered but its still standing and offers a great respite from the Queensland sun.
A view of the back of the house
The selling point. And a glimpse of our beautiful poinciana tree.

I hope you too see what we saw. A lot of potential!
